Author

Pastor Sidney is the author of Morning Meditations: 100 Days to Believing You’re Successful and Fishing Differently: Ministry Formation in the Marketplace.

Morning Meditations is written to help people in the first 100 days of your new assignment or first 100 days to a new outlook on life. Pastor Sidney encourages the readers of his book to meditate on how each day moved them one step closer to true success as they prepare for bed each night, and when they awake each day, readers are encouraged to take time to read and reflect on the Morning Meditation to frame their new day.

Fishing Differently was written to help established congregations access multiple sources of capital to fund transformational ministries that will have a measurable impact on their communities. This book not only offers critical insight on this process and practical examples, but will also help pastors and church leaders guide congregations through a season of transition.

His Greatest Passion for God’s Church

Pastor Sidney is also committed to the work of missions around the world, teaching or serving alongside of our partners in Gospel ministry, and to develop lasting relationships. In addition to several short term mission trips to Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, he and his family served as missionaries in Cape Town, S.A. for 18 months.

Pastor Sidney has also committed himself to studying the intersection of Theology and Economics. After obtaining a Bachelors of Business Administration from Howard University, Pastor Sidney earned a MBA from the Wharton School of Business in 1994 and then later earned a Masters of Divinity from the Wesley Theological Seminary in 2008. In 2018, Pastor Sidney earned a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Payne Theological Seminary. His dissertation was titled: “Rediscovering Sacred Pathways for Spiritual Healing and Renewal in the African Methodist Episcopal Church: A Communal Model for Pastoral Care in the Twenty-First Century.” Prior to accepting his call to ordained ministry in 2004 under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Harry L.
